For any of our readers that live in the south, you may argue against some of our findings. We’re guessing that every southern state thinks that they have the friendliest people. Here are the top cities with the most southern hospitality.
Savannah, Georgia
According to our sources, Savannah Georgia is arguably the most hospitable place in the south. It has been ranked on several different factors through many different surveys. They are the most polite, helpful, and charming of all the states. And Savannah is a great concentration of all of this. A culmination of these traits has caused the city to be nicknamed the “Hostess City”.
Downtown Savannah is gorgeous, with 22 Public Squares to visit. There are historical districts and newer districts to appeal to the young professionals. Another popular activity in Savannah is getting a delicious southern meal. There are countless places to stop to grab something delicious to eat. This includes Alligator Soul Restaurant, Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room, and The Olde Pink House. With names like this, you know these restaurants reside in the south.
After you’ve taken a trip downtown and had something to eat, you should probably stop at one of the many historic districts or a local antique store. There are so many French and creole-inspired artifacts that are prominent throughout the entire city. You’ll feel like you’re in a storybook.
Fort Worth, Texas
The next stop on our list is going to bring us to the wonderful state of Texas. Texas is considered to be one of the friendliest states. They rank highly with kindness and lending a helping hand. But what makes Fort Worth so hospitable? The answer for us is a mixture of its locals, it’s beautiful outdoors, and it’s many bars and restaurants.

A very common theme for new neighbors around these parts is home-cooked meals. Lafayette, Louisiana
Finally we are going to be talking about Lafayette, Louisiana. New Orleans is a great place to live, however, it can become quite popular because it is a large tourist attraction. Not that this has much to do with southern hospitality, but in other parts of Louisiana there is a more dense population of locals. In Lafayette, you can find hard workers that are kind yet fierce.
Similar to Georgia, there are a lot of Creole and French influences that can be seen in the food, architecture, and music of the area. Additionally, the weather here is delightful which, if you’re from the north, can help with a happy attitude.
The locals here are not only polite but they know how to party. The Festival International de Louisiane is in the spring and it brings musicians all over the French-speaking world. It’s a four-day festival and it is more popular than the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. It’s a celebration of the region’s indigenous cultures and the blend of cajun, creole, and French settlers originating from this land.
